Classroom Information
Our Toddler Program:
Our Daily schedule is carefully balanced between active and more quiet play.
We have circle and create great masterpieces even at this young age.
We work very closely with the toddlers to increase their vocabulary and build their self-help skills.
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program:
Our prek program revolves around preparation for Kindergarten.
In accordance with the performance standards in the State of CT, we strive to develop the "whole" child. The areas of concentration are cognitive, personal and social, physical and creative expression.
We use these guidelines along with our weekly themes, the kindergarten readiness guidelines, and hands-on learning to make sure that each child has the necessary tools to succeed.
We include language and math, science and music, movement and art in our daily routine. The children are encouraged to make their own decisions taking into consideration the classroom community.
Our hope is that the friendships and learning that children experience here at Honey Tree will last a lifetime.
Our Preschool Program:
The preschool classroom is a child-centered environment.
Our focus in the Preschool class is communication and understanding of the world around us.
We incorporate weekly themes that are taught through active learning in each of the following areas: math, science, art expression, fine and motor development as well as language. We also use letter sounds, numbers, shapes, rhyming and opposites to enhance our well-rounded curriculum.
