Toddler Room
(6 weeks to 3 years)
Ms. Loretta is our Head Teacher in the toddler room. Ms. Loretta started at Honey Tree in 1992 after working for Laidlaw Transit for 16 years transporting children with special needs. Ms. Loretta has her CDA and continues to learn and expand her talents daily. Ms. Loretta provides the children with the opportunity to explore the curriculum in a variety of learning concepts. She is such a wonderful, spirited educator. She believes that every child has infinite potential and cultivates that in child-centered play as well as teacher directed interaction each and every day!
Ms. Anne also works in our Toddler 2 classroom. Ms. Anne has her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She believes that early education is the key to success. She enjoys seeing the children grow physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally, especially knowing she was able to help guide them there! She enjoys cooking, art and music and hopes to pass these passions along to the children. Ms. Anne loves coming to work because "no two days are alike! It is always exciting and truly rewarding to know that I am making a difference!"
Ms. Samantha, who works with our younger toddlers, has a natural zest for life and learning. Ms. Samantha studied early childhood development. She loves being a part of the ever changing lives of these intricate members our family. She has additional training in CPR/First Aid, Allergy and Asthma, medication administration and more...
Ms. Melissa attended the University of Southern CT. She has serveral year's of experience in preschool and daycare and now works with our Toddler Ones and cares of our littelest ones in the afternoon. She cannot get enough of their little smiles and baby steps.
Ms. Katie is our infant teacher. She began working at Honey Tree in 2002. Her energy and organization skills lend to the immaculate and fun classroom enviornment. Her love for babies is evidenced in her playful manner and attention to detail. Her smile and warm embrace lets them know how much they are loved and how special they are!
Preschool
(3 years old)
Ms. Michelle has played several roles in her early childhood education career. Ms. Michelle has her Bachelor of Arts from St. Joseph's College where she was an English Major with a concentration in Education. She has taken several post graduate classes in Early Childhood from Curriculum development to language and Literacy development.
PreKindergarten Ms. Debra has been teaching preschool and Kindergarten since 1990. Her true passion is working with young children in their formative years. Her love of art and music help create an atmosphere in which children enjoy learning. In Ms. Debra's classroom you will see a diversity of learning styles and programs, as each child learns differently. Ms. Debra is extremely patient and compassionate which naturally encourage children to thrive. Her enthusiasm, positive outlook and gentel personality invites her students reach out to explore their world! The children in Ms. Debra's class is always more than ready for Kindergarten at graduation.
(4 and 5 year olds)
Afterschool Program
(2nd - 6th Grade)
Ms. Kelly is the reading teacher at Stepney Elementary School here in Monroe. She has been the reading teacher there since 1997. At Honey Tree she helps children with homework and makes afterschool "fun". Her energy and experience are such a wonderful part of our team. Her classroom is complete with games and movies on Friday too!
Part Time Staff make all the difference...
Ms. Shannon attends Southern University and loves children. She brings an element of youthful play to each classroom. You will always find her truly engaged in play, dance and creative expression. She will make an amazing teachers someday!
Ms. Janelle is our subsititue teacher. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education and is fun loving and amazing with the children!
